My Priorities
As Trustee, my focus will be on strong governance, community responsiveness, and thoughtful planning for the future.
The success of a public library depends on strong, effective leadership. I will support the Library Director, William Adamczyk, and work collaboratively with my fellow Trustees to ensure the library is well-managed, forward-looking, and responsive to community needs. As Trustee, I will help provide thoughtful oversight, clear governance, and a productive partnership with library leadership—ensuring that strategic priorities, staffing, and resources align with the library’s mission. With a collaborative and respectful working relationship between the Trustees and the Director, we can help ensure the library continues to thrive and serve Milton residents with excellence.
A strong library requires stable and reliable financial support. I will advocate for responsible budgets that provide the resources needed to maintain excellent services, strong collections, and high-quality programming for residents of all ages. At the same time, I believe in careful oversight of expenditures and thoughtful stewardship of public funds. As Trustee, I will work to ensure that library funding is both sufficient to meet community needs and managed with transparency, accountability, and a long-term view toward financial sustainability.
Expand Community Engagement
The library should reflect and serve the entire Milton community. I will support programming, collections, and outreach that make the library welcoming, accessible, and relevant to residents of all ages and backgrounds. Strong libraries are built through strong community connections—by listening to residents, strengthening partnerships with schools and local organizations, and ensuring services evolve alongside the needs of the Town. As Trustee, I will be an accessible and responsive ambassador for the library, helping bring community voices into its planning, priorities, and future direction.
Strong libraries plan ahead. I will actively engage in the library’s strategic planning process to help ensure that services, programs, and spaces both reflect and anticipate the evolving needs of Milton residents. Strategic planning provides an opportunity to thoughtfully assess how the library serves the community today and how it should grow in the years ahead. As Trustee, I will work with the Library Director and fellow Trustees to help set clear priorities, consider emerging opportunities in technology and learning, and ensure the library continues to thrive as a vibrant resource, community gathering place, and trusted information hub for residents of all ages, from young children and students to working adults and seniors.
Libraries are evolving to meet the needs of a rapidly changing world. I support expanding digital resources, improving access to technology, and offering programs that build digital literacy and understanding of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence. These skills are increasingly essential for education, employment, and everyday life.
The library can play an important role in helping residents of all ages learn how to find reliable information, evaluate sources, and use new technologies with confidence. By investing in these resources and educational opportunities, the library can continue to serve as a trusted guide in an increasingly complex information landscape while ensuring that everyone in our community has the tools they need to learn, grow, and stay connected.
Running a town-wide campaign requires resources for outreach, printing, and voter communication. Your contribution helps ensure I can connect with residents across Milton and share a positive vision for our library’s future.
Thank you for your support.
About Me
I moved to Milton about 10 years ago with my husband and our two sons, now 12 and 10, who attend Pierce Middle School and Glover Elementary School, respectively. My professional background is in early childhood special education, and since having children, I have been caring for my family while advocating for families and supporting children’s education through volunteer work. I am actively engaged in Milton’s civic life as co-president of the Glover Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), a Pierce PTO volunteer, a Town Meeting Member for Precinct 3, and a captain for a team of home cooks who provide meals to women at risk of homelessness through Father Bill's & MainSpring. My family enjoys the many opportunities available in and around Milton from the Monster Dash and the Milton Police Open House to swimming with Shamrock Swim Club at the New England Base Camp and practicing Taekwondo at Modern Taekwondo on Gallivan Boulevard.
My Family & The Library
In addition to my love of reading and appreciation for the library’s many resources, I hold a special fondness for the Milton Public Library because it was one of the first places where I met other residents after moving to town. My entire family has always felt welcomed by the warm, outgoing staff, and we are continually impressed by the breadth of events and collections the library offers. It has been a place where my husband has gone to work when our internet was down; where my sons, as toddlers, loved visiting the fish in the children’s room; where they took chess lessons in their early elementary years; and where they now discover books their friends are reading or check out video games. This past summer, my older son became old enough to use the teen room, and he was so excited that he regularly biked to the library with a backpack, eager to carry home the stacks of books he had checked out. The Milton Public Library is a true cornerstone of our town, and my family and I are deeply grateful for the welcoming and enriching role it plays in the lives of Milton residents.
